Sacrifices
Successful people don’t have more time than you.
Everyone has the same 24 hours in a day.
The key difference?
Successful people know what to focus on.
And more importantly…
What NOT to focus on.
Growth demands sacrifice.
It’s painful, but necessary if you want to reach new heights.
This means sacrificing your old life for a new one.
Six months ago, I made the best decision ever:
Doing a No-go monk mode.
I committed to an extended period of avoiding things that held me back:
Gaming
Parties
Weed and alcohol
Social media
Netflix
I also practiced semen retention since I’ve heard a lot of good things about it.
My plan was to do this for 100 days.
The results were transformative.
After 21 days, my mental and physical health improved.
I replaced bad habits with good ones:
Working out daily
Meditating
Journaling
Taking long walks
Posting content
Reading
By day 50, challenges arose.
I felt lonely and missed my old lifestyle and friends.
Some part inside of me didn’t want to let them go.
I convinced myself that one thing couldn’t hurt.
But this couldn’t be further from the truth.
One slip would lead to another.
All of my bad habits eventually followed.
I realized I needed to let go of my past completely to move forward.
Entrepreneurship is hard because of uncertainty.
We fear that all our sacrifices might be for nothing.
But remember why you left your old life.
There’s no going back.
Keep going.
Change requires commitment.
Nothing changes if nothing changes.
If you keep bouncing between two lifestyles, you’ll get nowhere.
Like the hunter chasing two rabbits, you’ll catch neither.
Here’s how to commit:
Write down everything you do weekly.
Assess the positives and negatives.
Eliminate activities where negatives outweigh positives.
Once you decide, don’t look back.
Write down why you quit.
When tempted, revisit your reasons.
Break the cycle.
Let this be your breaking point.
There’s no going back.
