Trust
Reading time: 4 minutes
If you wan’t to make money...
You need to build trust.
There’s no other way.
The internet is still relatively new.
That means there are inefficiencies.
Like scammers.
People trying to deceive you to steal your money.
And unfortunately, there are lots of them.
Everyone has been scammed more times than they can count.
They’ve been scammed of their:
Money
Beliefs
Attention
Legacy media spreads lies.
Advertisements promote products that don’t work.
Online gurus sell worthless courses.
Global trust is at an all-time low.
I’ve noticed it with myself too.
I’m skeptical of anyone promoting something online.
Especially courses.
In fact, I never even bought a course until a year ago.
What did I buy?
Dan Koe’s 2-Hour Writer.
Dan was the first online persona I fully trusted.
Why?
Because he built a strong personal brand.
He shared a lot of free, valuable information on YouTube.
He couldn’t be a scammer.
His name was on the line.
This is the power of trust.
And I’m not the only one who thinks this way.
We’re seeing a major shift in online business.
Personal brands are the future.
When you put a face behind a product, people trust you.
Look at Andrew Tate, for example.
Over 200k people pay him $50/month for his program.
He doesn’t even teach most of it himself.
Is the information on there better than other courses?
Probably not.
So why is he more successful than others?
Because people trust him.
The same applies to:
Charlie Morgan
Alex Hormozi
Elon Musk
Etc.
The more people trust you...
The more successful you’ll be.
But how do you actually build that trust?
You need 3 things:
Relatability
Consistency
Reciprocity
Here is how to do it:
Relatability
The best personal brands are built on storytelling.
Stories engage and captivate your audience.
They help people connect with you.
Speak from personal experience.
Don’t hide your:
Opinion
Beliefs
Worldview
Don’t try to relate to everyone.
Your job is to relate to a select group of people.
There will always be people like you.
Those are the ones you should speak to.
Talk about your past:
Desires
Problems
Experiences
Many people are in the same situation you were once in.
Revisit what it felt like.
Share what you did to overcome it.
The key is to be 100% authentic.
It won’t work if you’re trying to be someone you’re not.
Be human.
Be YOU.
If people relate to you...
They’ll trust you.
Consistency
Consistency isn’t just about showing up every day.
It’s about showing your audience that you truly care.
When you’re consistent, it demonstrates:
Commitment
Dedication
Reliability
Would you trust someone who disappears for weeks?
Probably not.
But consistency isn’t only about being present.
It’s also about being consistent in what you say.
Would you trust someone who changes their opinions every day?
Maybe you trust him as a person.
But you can’t trust what he’s saying.
Here’s the problem:
Many creators post ideas just because they sound good.
But they don’t know if they’re actually true.
Avoid this trap.
How?
Test every idea for yourself.
Here is a simple framework you can use:
Idea → Execution → Iteration → Implementation.
When you’ve implemented something in your life...
It’s no longer just knowledge—
It becomes wisdom.
Maybe it won’t work for everyone...
But at least you’ll know it’s true for you.
That’s when you can confidently share it.
And that’s how you build trust.
Reciprocity
This is a psychological principle.
One of the most powerful ones.
It’s simple:
When you give, people feel compelled to give back.
You can use this in your advantage.
How?
By giving away as much as possible.
But here’s the key:
It needs to be genuine.
Don’t expect something in return.
But know that the more you give, the more likely you are to receive.
Here’s how to practice reciprocity:
Share as much free value as you can.
Help people on calls.
Support other creators.
If there is mutual exchange...
The connection will grow stronger.
Trust will increase.
But don’t stop there.
See every connection as a seed.
When you engage, you water that seed.
And when you give, it’s like adding fertilizer.
You can’t predict what fruits will grow.
But if you keep nurturing your network...
Something WILL come out of it.
Endnote
Building trust takes time and effort.
Be yourself.
Stay consistent in your actions and words.
Nurture your network.
Remember:
Trust is fragile.
It takes years to build and seconds to break.
Don’t lie
Don’t deceive
Don’t break your word
Act with integrity, always.
Because when you do, the rewards will follow.
Much love,
Tibor
